Every March, Blue Bombers players visit schools across the province to speak to youth in grades K-8 on how to foster healthy relationships and create positive school cultures. In addition, the team participates in Pink Day each year.
Samantha Mason Friendship Award
Do you know a healthy relationships leader?
The Samantha Mason Friendship Award was created by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in memory of Samantha Mason, who was a victim of bullying at her school in Winnipeg. Nominate a young person who has taken action in their school or community to eliminate bullying by embracing the core values of our Canadian Centre for Child Protection/Blue Bombers Kindness Pledge:
- I have the power to make a difference. I will not be a bully or a bystander.
- I can help change the way others are treated in my school, my community and online.
- Everyone is worthy of friendship, support and respect, therefore, I will choose to share kindness and hope instead of hate and hurt.
- I have the power to change the story from hate to hope
If you know a young person who embraces this pledge, nominate them today using the form below. For more information on Samantha’s story, click here.
Nominations will close on November 30th
